Lady Panthers lose close game to Lady Colonels

The Lady Panthers played their last regular season game on Friday night against the Christian County Lady Colonels. The Lady Panthers played hard but fell 59-56 to the Lady Colonels.

The two teams played close in the first quarter, but the Lady Panthers could not take the early lead, ending the first half down 9-13. Senior Nathansia Haskins put the Lady Panthers in the lead in the second quarter, but they quickly fell behind 26-29 going into the second half.

The Lady Panthers would fall behind in the third quarter while the Lady Colonels continued to put points on the scoreboard, leading 43-26 going into the final quarter.

The fourth quarter was where the Lady Panthers started a comeback. Halfway through the quarter, Khalia Hampton put the Lady Panthers two points behind the Lady Colonels. The Lady Colonels still maintained the lead but with one minute to go, senior Amber Sydnor put the Lady Cougars down by only one point.

The Lady Panthers could not get another basket, falling 56-59 to the Lady Colonels.

DeVonya Bryant led the Lady Panthers with 15 points. Khalia Hampton and Nathansia Haskins both finished with 13 points each. Amber Sydnor finished with eight points.
