The Russellville High School football team has been back on the practice field for a few days now and is gearing up for the upcoming season.
The Panthers return most of their top players from last year’s squad, which went 6-6 and advanced to the second round of the Class A playoffs.
This will be Russellville’s second season in their new Class A district, which includes powerhouse Mayfield - last year’s state championship runner-up. Also in the district is Fulton City and Fulton County.
Russellville will have nondistrict games this season against traditional rivals Franklin-Simpson, Logan County and Todd Central. The Panthers also have games scheduled with Fort Campbell, Hopkins County Central and South Warren.
They will kick off the season Aug. 17 at home against Trigg County.
