The biggest game of the football season is scheduled for tonight has the across town rivals face each other in the Clash of the Cats. Both teams are getting prepared and ready to fight for the win. The Cougars are confident after they took home the win last year with a score of 32-21 but the Panthers are ready to change that this year.

The Russellville Panthers will enter the field with an overall season record of 6-3. This season the Panthers have guaranteed themselves a home playoff game against Bethlehem next Friday.

“This is a big game for the kids and the community and I think its going to be a tough game. We preparing like we do every other game. This is going to be a fought hard football game.,” said Russellville head coach John Myers. “We’re going to bring it on Friday and hopefully come out on top. Logan County is a well coached team and they are going to be ready to play.”

A.K. Tisdale and Daniel Duncan are seniors for Russellville High School and are prepared for the game on Friday.

“I’m hyped up for the game. It’s a tradition and we’re ready to play,” said Duncan.

“I’m excited. They got us last year and we’re ready to come back and make a huge statement,” said Tisdale.

The Logan County Cougars come into the game with an overall season record of 2-7. The Cougars won against Barren County which guaranteed them a spot in the playoffs.

“We know what is at stake. I don’t feel like they have played to their potential,” said Logan County head coach Dain Gregory. “Our record doesn’t show our potential and I think we’re ready to go. This game will give us some extra motivation and its going to be full of intensity. And the good news is both of us are going to the playoffs.”

Jared Hall and Justin Rone are heading into their last games of their high school career.

“We are getting the momentum to go into the playoffs. It’s going to be a good game,” said Hall. “Its all about pride and it means a lot.”

“The game against rivals are always special. I think its going to be a good game to end my home career on,” said Rone.

The Cougars and the Panthers will go head to head at 7:00 tonight at Logan County High School.
