Two Logan County men have been recently arrested and charged with crimes against children less than 12 years of age.

Timothy Merrell, 41, of 260 Highland Lick Road, was arrested on June 18, 2012, and charged with first degree sexual abuse for fondling two victims - an 11-year-old and a 9-year-old female.

According to the arrest report, Merrell admitted on video and audio that he fondled the 11-year-old four times and the 9-year-old three times.

When the detective conducted the interview, both girls collaborated Merrell’s admittance of the events. Merrell was lodged in the Logan County Detention Center and held on a $10,000 cash bond.

The second man, Terry Johnson, 25, of 710 Nashville Street in Russellville, was arrested June 1, 2012, and charged with first degree sodomy.

According to the arrest record, Johnson admitted to sticking his index finger inside a seven month old female’s anus and cutting her with his finger nail.

Johnson was lodged in the Logan County Detention Center and held on a $20,000 cash bond.
