The Lady Panthers travelled to Warren Central on Thursday to face the Lady Dragons. The Lady Panthers fought hard, but the Lady Dragons took the win of 12-2 in five innings.

The teams started the game off slow, but by the second inning the teams had put runs on the scoreboard. The Lady Dragons had the lead of four runs compared the the Lady Panthers two runs scored by Taylor Gray.

The Lady Panthers were able to get three quick outs in the third inning, but were not able to get any runs added to their score. With some mistakes, the Lady Dragons were able to bring in two more runs in the fourth inning and still keep the Lady Panthers from scoring in the fourth and fifth innings.

The bottom of the fifth started off good for the Lady Panthers, as they were able to get in two outs pretty quick. The Lady Dragons stepped up their game while the Lady Panthers were losing energy. The Lady Dragons would add six more runs to the score, resulting in the ending of the game 12-2.

“We have been playing good and we got our first win last Saturday. These girls are so young and they don’t know the game,” said head coach Greg Meacham. “I’m proud of them. Tonight was ugly, but they have been doing pretty good and I think we are surprising people. We have to continue working on the basic fundamentals.”

The Lady Panthers will play next Monday at South Warren.
