The Logan County Cougar baseball team invited the Rossview Hawks from Clarksville to their field on Tuesday night. The Cougars played a tough game but fell 9-1 to the Hawks.

The Rossview Hawks took the lead early with two runs in the first inning and then getting three quick outs to prevent the Cougars from scoring. Neither teams made any runs in the second inning, but the Hawks would score two more in the third.

The Cougars were able to get several hits in the third inning, resulting with bases loaded. Logan County’s Cody Hunt came through with a run and scored for the Cougars. This would be the only run for the Cougars for the rest of the game.

The Rossview Hawks went on to score five more runs to end the game 1-9.

Senior Ryan Basham pitched four innings for the Cougars, striking out two and allowing six hits and six runs for the Hawks. Lucas Dean threw two innings in relief, striking out two and allowing two runs on four hits. Matt Harper pitched the last inning, striking out two and allowing no hits or runs.

The Cougars will face the Meade County Green Wave tonight at Henderson County in the Northern Spring Break Tournament. The Cougars next home game will be Tuesday against the Todd County Central Rebels.
