Even though the weather has not been cooperative so far this season, the Logan County and Russellville high school teams are gearing up for district games tonight on their home fields.
The Logan County Cougars have had a successful season so far, with a 9-4 season record. This past weekend the Cougars competed in the Northern Spring Break Tournament at Henderson County. The Cougars went 2-1 with wins over Meade County (3-2) and Henderson County (15-11). The Cougars will face the Todd County-Central Rebels tonight at 5 p.m.
The Russellville Panthers are even for the season, with a record of 6-6. The Panthers spend a majority of their spring break in Ft. Walton Beach, Fla. The Panthers competed in the Florida Beach Bash and went 1-1 in the tournament. The Panthers will face the Franklin-Simpson Wildcats tonight at 5 p.m. at home.
The Logan County Lady Cougars have had a slow start to their season because of the weather. The Lady Cougars have not been able to pull together a win yet this season, resulting in a 0-7 record so far this season. The Lady Cougars will face the Franklin-Simpson Lady Wildcats tonight on their home field at 5:30.
The Russellville Lady Panthers have also had a slow start to their season. The Lady Panthers have got one win this season against Hopkinsville and have a season record of 1-9. The Lady Panthers will face the Hart County Lady Raiders at home at 5 p.m. tonight.
