A Russellville woman was killed in a car wreck on Thursday, July 5, in north Logan County.

At approximately 2:41 p.m. that day, the Logan County Sheriff’s Department responded to an accident on US 431 North at Diamond Springs Road in Lewisburg that resulted in the death of Nancy L. Lack, 77 of Russellville.

After arriving on the scene and investigating, it was determined that Lack was travelling north on US 431, when for unknown reasons, she crossed into the southbound lane and ran off the left side of the road before striking a tree.

Lack was trapped inside the vehicle and pronounced dead on the scene by Logan County coroner Mary Givens.

Further investigation is being handled by the Logan County Sheriff’s Department. They were assisted on the scene by the Lewisburg Fire Department, Logan County EMS and the Dunmor Fire Department.

This was the second fatal accident to occur on US 431 in the Lewisburg area in recent weeks.

On May 30, 41-year-old Eric Smith, of Lewisburg died on US 431 approximately four and a half miles north of Lewisburg after he ran off the road and hit a tree.
