Adairville’s square will hopefully be hopping Saturday night with plenty of motorcycles and classic cars.
The South Logan Historical Society, along with the Adairville Police Department, will be hosting the first ever “Adairville Bike Night” on the city square beginning at 6 p.m.
“We’re just trying to get some excitement in Adairville on a Saturday night,” said Donna Blake, president of the Historical Society. “We hope people will ride their bikes and classic cars or just come down to look at all of them.”
There will be T-shirts for sale at the event and they have been paid for by sponsors – Logan Telephone Cooperative, Riley White Drugs and BMW Foods.
Any proceeds that come from the event will go toward helping buy automated external defibrillators (AEDs) for the Logan County schools.
Adairville’s school already has AEDs and police chief Steve Hadden said he wants to see one in every Logan County school.
“We’re going to get them in the other schools,” Hadden said. “I think there have been too many deaths that should have never happened.”
The two parties would like to see “Adairville Bike Night” become a regular thing in the south Logan County town.
“They have one of these in Elkton and it is very successful,” Blake said. “They have like 200 to 300 people every week. We’d like to get something like that going down here and have one of these every month.”
