School bus involved in accident

Traffic was backed up on US Hwy. 68-80 Thursday morning due to an accident involving a school bus and two passenger vehicles.

According to a Logan County Sheriff’s Department report, a Chevy SUV driven by Tequilla Armstrong of Auburn struck a Ford SUV driven by John Morgan of Russellville while traveling eastbound on 68-80. Morgan’s vehicle then struck a Logan County School bus driven by Della Fox of Russellville. There were 20 children on board the bus.

Armstrong was taken to Logan Memorial Hospital by Logan County EMS and then taken to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville by Vanderbilt Lifeflight. Morgan was taken to Logan Memorial Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

All the children on the bus were checked by Logan County EMS and there were no reports of injuries from anyone on the bus.

Also assisting on the scene were the Russellville and Auburn Rural Fire Departments.
