Ten schools from Todd, Simpson, Muhlenberg and Logan counties participated in this event, which is administered by the Kentucky Association for Academic Competition and sponsored by the Kentucky Education Savings Plan Trust.
The Governor's Cup features eight events, including the Quick Recall event, which is the only one open to the public.
Simpson Lincoln Elementary was the regional champion, with Greenville Elementary School taking second place. Stevenson won third.
The SES Quick Recall team took second place. Students who placed in the regional tournament from SES were Kris Harris, fifth in language arts, and McKenzie Young, third in science.
Stevenson Elementary School received donations from Logan Memorial Hospital, Piggly Wiggly, Ninth Street Shell, Save-A-Lot, Roy's Barbecue, IGA, Subway, Ponderosa, Country Oven, Dollar General Market and the Russellville Middle School PTO.
