Republicans need to keep their hands to themselves

Dear Editor:

I would like to contribute my voice to the recent political theme. I grew up on a dead end gravel road in Auburn, Ky.

My values are a small town’s values: You work before you play, you say thank you and mean it, you help the neighbor if their cows are out, and you stick with your college basketball team.

My three children are growing up on Main Street in Auburn, Ky. Their values are a small town’s values: You do your best and never cheat, you stand up for what’s right, you mind your own business and you keep your hands to yourself.

Mitt Romney knows nothing of these values. America is a small town in a big world. We are all neighbors. And our cows are out.

Millionaires becoming billionaires through unequal tax rates is not work before play. Eliminating Social Security and Medicare for those who have done their share to build this country is not saying thank you. Cutting grants for college while raising loan rates is not supporting our Big Blue Nation. Restricting voter rights is cheating. Ignoring sick children is wrong.

And when it comes to adult American citizens choosing whom to marry and when to start a family, Mr. Romney and his Republican party should mind their own business and keep their hands to themselves.
