The Russellville High School boys’ basketball team continued its winning ways on Tuesday as it came away with a convincing 58-39 win at Greenwood.
The Panthers appear to be hitting their stride now, as they have won three in a row and five of their last six contests.
Coming into Tuesday night’s game, RHS had picked up back-to-back wins over arch-rival Logan County, once in the third-place game of the First Southern National Bank Christmas Classic and again last Friday night in a District 13 matchup.
Russellville is now 9-7 on the year and will face another district rival, Franklin-Simpson tonight in Franklin.
The Wildcats come into that game with a record of 9-8.
The Russellville girls’ team lost to Greenwood on Tuesday night in Bowling Green, but it was a close affair.
The Lady Panthers fell 66-59 in overtime.
It was the second straight loss to a District 14 team for RHS, as Warren Central defeated the Lady Panthers 75-42 on Saturday, Jan. 5.
The Lady Panthers are now 6-9 on the season and will look to get back in the win column tonight at Franklin-Simpson.
The girls’ game will tipoff the girl-boy doubleheader at 6 p.m. The Lady Cats come into that game with a record of 12-6.
