Iona Masten Hightower, 90, of Terre Haute, Ind., died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at the Southwood Nursing and Rehab Center in Terre Haute.

She was born in Tallula, Ill. April 21, 1922, a daughter of the late Charles M. and Flora Woodrum Masten.

Mrs. Hightower was retired from the Illinois Public School System as a high school teacher. She was a member of the Tallula Christian Church.

Graveside services will be held Friday, Oct. 5 at 11:30 a.m. at Glenwood Cemetery with Dr. Howard Willen officiating. Visitation will begin Friday, Oct. 5 from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.

She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Toby Hightower of Terre Haute, Ind.; her son, Randy Hightower of Little Rock, Ark.; her daughter, Shirley Luten of Tucson, Ariz., and her sister, Helen Nichols of Tallula, Ill.
