Willie Lee “Hamp” Hampton, 79, of Russellville, died Sept. 8, 2012, at Creekwood Place Nursing and Rehab Center.

He was born in Guthrie May 9, 1933, a son of the late George Fort Hampton and Geneva Fort Hampton.

Mr. Hampton was a mortician and the owner of Winston Funeral Home in Russellville. He served on the Russellville City Council for over 33 years. He was a United States Army veteran.

Graveside services were held Thursday, Sept. 13 at 11 a.m. at the Kentucky Veteran Cemetery West with Reverend M.O. Fort officiating. Visitation began Wednesday, Sept. 12 from 3-7 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Russellville.

He is survived by his son, John Wilson of Clarksville, Tenn.; his sister, Ernestine Ward of Clarksville, Tenn. and two grandchildren.
