Junior Eugene Smock, 84, of Russellville, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at the Medical Center of Bowling Green.

He was born in Farmer City, Ill. Oct. 28, 1928, a son of the late Othar Smock and Gladys Jordan Smock. In addition to his parents, Mr. Smock was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Martha Jean Smock and his son Todd Smock.

Mr. Smock was a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Lewisburg Masonic Lodge #324, a Rizpah Shriner and a member of the Lewisburg Eastern Star #109. He was a boiler maker with the Chicago Bridge and Iron and a member of the Elk Lick Baptist Church.

He is survived by his son, Barry and Francine Smock of Santé Fe, N.M. and Troy Smock of Russellville; his daughters, Donna and David Ezell of Russellville and Joni and Tim Davis of Campbellsville, Ky.; his brother, Charles Smock of Arkansas; his sister, Catherine Arnette of Danville, Ill.; nine grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday Dec. 23 at 3:30 p.m. at the Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel with Brother Art Hatfield officiating. Burial followed in the Elk Lick Cemetery. Visitation began Saturday, Dec. 22 from 4-8 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 23 from 8 a.m. until time of service. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers were Les Hayes, Dave Delaney, Austin Smock, Ben Davis Chris Smock and Ty Motsinger.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Elk Lick Baptist Church or Hospice.
