John Cleveland Miles Jr., 97, of Russellville, died Feb. 8, 2013.

He was born in Logan County on August 16, 1915, a son of the late John Cleveland Miles Sr. and Lena Rachael Jenkins Miles. In addition to his parents, Mr. Miles is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Pauline Hamlet Miles and his brother, Robert T. Miles.

Mr. Miles was a member of the New Union Baptist Church. He worked for Rockwell and farmed most of his life.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 1 p.m. at the Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel with Brother Donnie Blick officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin at the funeral home Tuesday, Feb. 12 from 10:30 a.m. until time of service.

He is survived by his sons, Joseph and Susan Miles of west Carrolton, Ohio and Gerald and Dawn Miles of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; his sister, Zenobia Berry of Russellville, his half-sister, Fannie Sue Montoya of Clarksville, Tenn.; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are David Miles, Frank Bradshaw, David Johnson, John Alcott, Daniel Gaston and Daniel Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers are Bubba Johnson, Don Penick, S.T. Hollinsworth, Sherman Price, James Collins, Mike Bradshaw, Gordon McCormick, Jack Batchler, Coleman Chaudoin, Thomas Penick and Duncan Vick.

In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to Odyssey Hospice, 1400 Donaldson Pike, Suite B-5 Nashville, TN 37217 or to New Union Baptist Church, 2600 Stephanie Rd. Russellville, KY 42276.
