Iva M. Norris, 97, of Gordonsville Road in Russellville, died Friday, November 23, 2012, at the Auburn Health Care.

She was a Cumberland County native born on February 12, 1915 to the late James Wesley Melton and Amelia Radford Melton.

She was a housewife, nurse maid, a political enthusiast and a member of New Union Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Norris, and sons, Murrell Norris and Donald Norris.

Funeral serviceswere conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, November 26, 2012, at the new Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie Blick and Bro. Warren David Wright officiating with burial to follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be held from 10 a.m. on Monday, until the funeral hour.

Pallbearers were Jamie Norris, Kelly Burbage, Gerald Norris, Bobby Dawson, Herman Taylor and Jack Batchelor.

She is survived by her sister, Virginia Edwards of Smiths Grove; grandchildren, Edward “Eddie” Norris, Teresa Chenalt and Heather Norris, all of Russellville, and Pam Holden of Cadiz; 11 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren also survive.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the Logan County Republican Headquarters. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
