Charles Mayes, 74, of Kirkmansville, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at Hearthstone Place.

He was born in Muhlenberg County May 25, 1938, a son of the late Henry and Pearl Clack Mayes. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mayes was preceded in death by his brother, James Mayes and his sisters, Mildred Durham, Mary Mayes and Earline Long.

Mr. Mayes was a member of Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 11 p.m. in the Rose Chapel of the Todd County Funeral Home with the Reverend Bill Skipworth officiating. Burial will follow at a later date. Visitation will begin Tuesday, Dec. 11 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Mayes of Lewisburg; his daughters, Josephine Bowen and Jennifer Boyd both of Clarksville, Tenn.; his sister, Mae Long of Illinois; three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
