Irene Yates, 90, of Adairville, died Jan. 22, 2013, at her home.

She was born in Simpson County on Feb. 26, 1922, a daughter of the late Hoy Shoulders and Ruth Couthrin Shoulders.

Mrs.Yates was a member of Spring Valley Baptist Church and attended Keysburg Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Frida,y Jan. 25 at 11 a.m. at the Young Funeral Home Russellville Chapel with Brother Steve Woody officiating. Burial followed in the Berea Cemetery. Visitation began at the funeral home Thursday, Jan. 24 from 4:30-8:30 p.m. and Friday, Jan. 25 from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Pallbearers were Roger Creek, Eric Davenport, J.T. Davenport, Tyler Davenport, Cody Heatherly and Trent Yates.

She is survived by her son, Harold and Carol Yates of Auburn; her daughters, Elizabeth Smith of Springfield, Tenn. and Hazel and Doug Davenport and Lillian and Larry McComas, both of Adairville; her brothers, Henry Shoulders and Howard Shoulders, both of Adairville; her sister, Anna Ruth Dorris and Lucille Ramsey, both of Adairville; and a total of 76 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
