Motorcycle collision sends one by helicopter to hospital

The Russellville Police Department received a report of a collision at the intersection of W. 9th Street and Nashville Street on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012.

The collision involved a 1997, white Chevrolet pickup truck, operated by Kristin Hudson, 17, of Lewisburg and a 2000, black Kawasaki motorcycle operated by Christopher Baskerville, 25, of Russellville.

According to witness statements, Hudson was attempting to turn left, northbound onto Nashville Street from W. 9th Street. Baskerville was exiting the Shell station parking lot, traveling westbound on W. 9th Street. The vehicles collided in the intersection.

Baskerville was transported via LCEMS ambulance to a landing zone for Air Evac and was ultimately transported to Vanderbilt Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The Russellville Police Department was assisted by Logan County EMS, the Russellville Fire Department, and the Logan County Emergency Communications Center.

Investigating officer is Samantha K. Reeser.

I was able to hold this man's hand while the ambulance was in route. I thank God he didn't sustain life threatening injuries!! It was a scary situation.

Thank you for being there for him . i am his mother and i am glad someone was there for him . he is home and doing good . thank you from his family and children .
