The storms that ripped through Logan County on Thursday night caused the death of a man in the Lewisburg area.

Billy Duck, age 56, was outside his home on Thompsons Chapel Road at approximately 9:30 p.m. when the strong winds blew down a large tree limb, which fell and crushed Duck, according to Logan County Coroner Mary Givens.

He was pronounced dead by Givens at Logan Memorial Hospital.

Duck and his wife, Anita, had just recently moved to the Lewisburg area from Jackson, Ga. His body is being taken to Evans Funeral Home in Jackson, Ga., for funeral arrangements.
