Logan County was recognized with several awards at the 2010 Annual Meeting. The following received 2010 Gold Star for Excellence Awards: Carrell Hughes and Tabitha Robertson, Women’s program; Jonathon Brown, Young Farmer Activities. John Alcott received Honorable Mention for Media Relations and Member Information. Logan County was the top county in the 4th Farm Bureau District: Allen, Barren, Green, Logan, Metcalf, Monroe, Simpson and Warren Counties. Russell Poore was re-elected for another two year term as a District 4 Director.
A memorial service was held to honor Insurance Personnel and County Board Members who were deceased this past year. Clyde T. Baugh, former Logan County Insurance Agency Manager and Rodney Haines, former Associate Board Member, were honored at this service.
Kentucky Farm Bureau President Mark Haney of Pulaski County expressed appreciation to county leaders during his annual address for helping Kentucky Farm Bureau reach the 500,000-member level this year.
Officers for 2011 were elected as follows: Mark Haney, President; Eddie Melton from Webster County 1st VP and J Fritz Giesecke from Hart County 2nd VP.
Attendees had their choice of attending the following conferences: AG Chemical, Forestry, Horticulture, Dairy, Farm Labor, Natural Resources, Feed Grains, Forage, Tobacco, Livestock, 2011 Kentucky Agricultural Economic Outlook and the Trade Show with exhibits.
