The Logan County Babe Ruth baseball league is off to a wonderful start this 2012 season. The four teams have been going at it and will continue to go against each other all season long until the all star game for the age groups in the middle of July. There are four teams each sponsored by major companies in the Logan County/Russellville area.

There is a team sponsored by Price’s Funeral Home and H&H Sheet Metal who’s team is a green top uniform. There is a team sponsored by Logan Telephone and Bouldin Roofing who’s team wears a red top uniform. Pratt’s Auto and Printer’s Plus sponsored another team that wears a blue top uniform. The final team in the four team league is sponsored by Logan County Animal Clinic and Subway who wears a maroon top.

In the first game Price Funeral Home/H&H won against Logan Telephone/Bouldin Roofing 7-3. Dillon Brown had three singles and a double with two RBI’s for Price Funeral. Garrett Strickler had a double and a single, Caleb Coursey had one RBI and Dalton Nash had two RBI’s. Jonathan Partlow went six innings, striking five out and only giving up the three runs. Logan Telephone saw Kenton Howard collect two singles, Ben Wright had one single and one RBI’s. Ben Wright gave up seven runs, but did strike out seven and only allowed one walk.

In the second game that was rained out and completed at a later date saw Pratt’s Auto/Printer’s Plus taking down Logan Animal Clinic/Subway 14-4. Wesley Stratton, Jacob Procter, and Michael Riley all collected two singles for Pratt. Desmon Quarles had a double and a single while collecting three RBI’s. Procter, Stratton and Trent Deberry all had two RBI’s in the victory. Jordan Hendrix pitched one inning, giving up two runs and striking two outs while Michael Riley pitched four innings and struck out six while only giving up one hit. Hunter Crafton and Jacob Decker got singles each and Crafton collected a RBI in the losing cause. Crafton started the game with one inning, early and then going five innings giving up 11 total runs and 11 hits.

In other highlight games; Price/H&H beat Logan Tele/Bouldin 9-6. Matt Guinn led Price with three singles, Garrett Strickler and Ryan Hudson both collected two singles. Hudson and Dillon Brown both got three RBI’s each. Brown only gave up one hit, striking out 8 and only giving up six runs. Brandon Jackson collected a double and one RBI and Kenton Howard got another RBI. Ben Wright pitched six innings, striking out eight but gave up 12 hits.

In another highlight game Price/H&H would beat Logan Clinic/Subway 8-4. Dillon Brown had two singles and three RBI’s. Jordan Campbell and Jerrod Engalnd both collected singles. Jonathan Partlow went five innings striking nine out and only giving up the four runs. Wes Stratton had a triple, Jacob Decker collected two singles and Zack Decker, Hunter Crafton, Dalton Clark all had singles. Crafton, Jacob Decker, and Zack Decker both had RBI’s each. Zack Decker pitched two innings giving up seven runs while Crafton came in and pitched four innings and striking eight out.

Pratt/Printer blew out Price/H&H in another highlight game 17-4. Trent Deberry had three singles, Hunter Crafton had two doubles, Jacob Procter, Desmon Quarles, and Michael Riley all had two singles each in the hit parade. Deberry, Procter, and Crafton all had two RBI’s. Jacob Procter pitched three innings, giving up no runs and striking out eight. Michael Riley came in and pitched the final inning giving up three hits and giving up four runs. Garrett Strickler collected a double, Dillon Brown and Jerrod England both got singles. Ashton Ross collected two RBI’s and Brown and England both got one RBI’s. Brown gave up nine runs and eight hits in three innings, England gave up eight runs on two hits and gave up five walks, Ross gave up three hits and no runs.
