Good morning.

I went to church and we had a really good crowd. It was wonderful fellowship with lots of visitors.

Sunday night Ruthie Morris was baptised. What a wonderful thing for a young child to know who her Lord is. Amen.

Bro. Gary Christmas brought a good message from the Good Book.

Pray for the sick and shut-ins.

August is half over. We’ve got great weather. Your world is what you make it.

Hump Day

It’s a nice, quiet day for a most welcome change.

Lots of birthdays have come and gone, but there are two more on Aug. 28 Rickey Rager and Larry Adler, Lordy, Lordy, he is past forty. Happy birthday guys.

I’m getting ready for Bible study night at 7 p.m. at Tabernacle Church in Lewisburg. Bro. Larry Eaton is a wonderful pastor. God sent him our way. Thank you Jesus. Amen.

All are welcome. Stay in the word and be strong. The Lord is always near.

Pray list for the sick:

We had company every Sunday when we were still at home.

The men folk would sit in straight back chairs leaning back against the porch post or a shade tree int he yard, enjoying each other and spending all day talking and enjoying themselves. They never seemed to be in a hurry. They would send the children off to the woods to play. The women folk were all in the kitchen cooking dinner, laughing and talking and having a good time. The men would be called to wash for the meal and eat first. All the women would be left for later and the children last. I never understood that. They they would start cleaning up dishes and putting away food. Then they’d go to the porch or living room.

Everyone would seem to start leaving. Cousins going home. We sure had a good day playing in the woods. Mom and Dad would always say, you might as well stay all night. I often wondered where in the world they would sleep. It was just a nice thing to say. We should not let all the good times be over. It is up to us. Let’s all slow down and enjoy our loved ones before it’s too late.

Pay Day

You can’t soar with the eagles while being a turkey. That always cooks my goose. LOL

September is upon us. I love fall of the year. Did you enjoy your summer?

It’s fourth months till Christmas. Shop now. After the election, will we still have Christmas? We need to pray that the Lord will give us a leader that has God in his heart. The love of money is the root of all evil.

Angie Dudley had her surgery. We pray she is doing well. She is in Baptist Hospital, Nashville, Tenn. Send a card.

The Coursey reunion was today at the Sportsman Club. 70 or more came. All had a good time, good food and good fellowship. The loved ones that are gone were missed.

Don’t forget we have a consignment shop on Stacket Street in Lewisburg. Doo-Wop Shop.

Thrift Shop on 431 Lewisburg beside the General Store. Go by and check out the bargains. What a beautiful day on this Saturday. Grandson Dylan Rager spent some time with his Memaw.

Nowadays, people know the price of everything and the value of nothing.

Tip of the Week

Take a wire coat hanger, bend each end up on each tip. Place your nice high heels on each tip. Place the toe of shoes on the tips of the hangers. Hang up in the closet by that dress you always wear with that pair.

It’s been a long day. Good night and God Bless you.

Tomorrow is the Lord’s Day.
