The Russellville Lady Panthers went 1-1 through the first two games of the First Southern National Bank Christmas Classic tournament this year.

The Lady Panthers won their game on Thursday 49-44 against the Hopkins County Central Lady Storm. The Lady Panthers lost on Friday 50-36 to the Carlisle County Lady Comets, however.

The Lady Panthers played a good game against the Lady Storm on Thursday. The Lady Panthers led 9-7 at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, the Lady Panthers defense was able to shut the Lady Storm down and end the first half 19-7.

The Lady Panthers came back out on the court at the second half and was able to keep a strong lead of 33-24 at the end of the third quarter. The Lady Storm tried to make a comeback, but the Lady Panthers were able to pull out with a win of 49-44.

Amber Sydnor led the Lady Panthers with 21 points. Khalia Hampton ended the game with 12 points and DeVonna Sydnor with 7 points.

On Friday the Lady Panthers faced the Lady Comets from Carlisle County. The Lady Panthers were able to keep up with the Lady Comets in the first quarter only trailing them by two points. The Lady Comets were able to lengthen the gap in the second quarter, which ended the first half with the Lady panthers behind 21-30.

Amber Sydnor ended the game with 16 points and Khalia Hampton with 9.
