If you have a horse or just love to watch them in a field or show, then the Logan County DreamRiders organization has an event for you.
A “Horse Affair” is being held in conjunction with the Logan County Fair on July 11 at 4 p.m. at the Logan County Extension Complex located on the 68-80 Bypass. Rain date will be Sunday, July 12 at 2 p.m.
This event is for first-timers and old-timers alike. Some of the categories include: open mares halter, open geldings halter, open long ears halter (mule), a special needs presentation (ages 4-12), championship 1st and 2nd of classes 1-3, Jr. Showmanship 10 and under, Jr. Showmanship (11-17), a special needs presentation (13 to adult), open leadline, costume class, longest ears, shortest horse/pony, tallest horse, look alike my horse, Marco Polo, open to all ages stick horse, braggin’ rights best trick horse, Simon Says and trail in hand.
Classes are $2 each to enter. There will be no fees for championship and special needs. There will be ribbons and drawings for prizes. Concession proceeds will go to the DreamRiders Therapeutic Riding.
There are many sponsors for the event. They include: the Logan County Animal Clinic, Southern States, Sheldon Baugh Insurance, Auburn Bank, Cornerstone Veterinary, Penchem Tack, Lewisburg IGA, Domino’s Pizza, Edward D. Jones, Nations Medicine, Lewisburg Banking, Omni printing, NAPA Auto parts, The Harvest, Dollar Market and the Adairville Feed Mill. Everyone is welcome to this event. Sharp, who is one of the lead coordinators for the DeamRiders Organization, said this was going to be a fun event for Logan County. Dream Riders, along with the Logan County Extension District are currently in the process of trying to construct an arena that will be a great asset to Logan County.
