Dear Editor:
I do not want guns of any kind in our schools… certainly not for our teachers, I think that is ludicrous to even suggest it.
I do think all citizens should have the right to own weapons for their protection and for sport, but no assault weapons. I cannot imagine why you would need a weapon that size and caliber or when you would ever use it.
And as far as arming our teachers to shoot someone who threatens our children, use all the security technology that is available with federal and state money for the schools to utilize. Our children are our most precious gifts from God and they should be protected. I recently read a letter that is fictitious, but this is how some feel about our teachers and I think it’s a crying shame.
