Trade Days in Lewisburg

Each weekend during the month of May, there will be Trade Days in McKinney Park. All vendors are invited to set-up and sell their wares on these dates. All spaces available are 20'x20'. There is a set-up fee for the booths: $10 per day or $15 for the weekend or the best deal $50 for all four weekends! Please call Lewisburg City Hall 755-4828 if you have questions or wish to set-up.

Benefit Yard Sale

There will be a benefit yard sale at the old pantry building next to Rangers Auto in Lewisburg, May 12-13 for Cooper Waid, who has MS, the grandson of JC and Barbara Key. All donations will be appreciated. For more information call Barbara Key at 755-5198

Auburn Dessert Taster’s and Grill Out

Auburn 8th grade class is hosting a Dessert Taster’s and Grill Out event for today from noon to 3 p.m. at the Auburn Park. Tickets for the Dessert Taster’s are $5 and we will have Grilled Hamburger and Hotdog plate lunches for $6. Dessert Taster’s will have a large selection of desserts and you can taste them all! Kids Fishing Rodeo

Wild Goose Paylake host their annual Kids fishing Rodeo today from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. Registration begins at 9 a.m. Lunch will be served throughout the day. Prizes and trophies will also be awarded throughout the day.

Lewisburg School Relay for Life

The Lewisburg School will be having a yard sale today in the school gym from 8 a.m. till noon For any more information please contact Lori Gilliam.

Movie in the Park!

Secretariat will be shown in the Lions Pavilion in McKinney Park in Lewisburg at 8 p.m. There is no charge for the movie and concessions will be available to purchase.

Mother's Day Benefit Pancake Breakfast

Mother's Day Benefit Pancake Breakfast in honor of Mitzi Rowan to be held today from 8-10 a.m. at Liberty Baptist Church in Auburn. After battling cancer for several months, Mitzi Rowan was hospitalized after a near death traffic accident. Sadly, after many weeks in the hospital, she passed away on March 20, 2011. In her honor, there will be a benefit pancake breakfast the Saturday before Mother's Day to recognize this special mother and daughter (Mitzi Rowan and Mrs. Carrie Kelley). The breakfast will be solely by donations, and all proceeds will be presented to the family in her honor to help with the medical bills. The menu for the breakfast will include: pancakes, sausage, and choice of juice or milk

Relay for Life Yard Sale

Relay for Life will be holding a yardsale today at Shelton Baugh Insurance “parking lot.” We encourage if you have anything that you would like to donate to bring it by.

The Logan Economic Alliance for Development (LEAD) will hold its regular monthly meeting Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 7 a.m., in the Logan County Chamber of Commerce Meeting Room in the Harrison-Hite Building, 116 South Main Street, Russellville.

The Logan Industrial Development Authority, (IDA) will hold its regular monthly meeting following the LEAD meeting Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 8 a.m., in the Logan County Chamber of Commerce Meeting Room in the Harrison-Hite Building, 116 South Main Street, Russellville.

Commissioner of Agriculture Candidates Visit Logan County

Commissioner of Agriculture Candidates Bob Farmer, Stewart Gritton, John Lackey and BD Wilson will hold a meet and greet today at 6 p.m. This will be held at the Logan County Democratic Headquarters at 141 S. Main, Russellville. There will be an opportunity for questions and answers after they each speak. Light refreshments will be served.

Benefit for Bro. Joe Carrico

There will be a benefit corn hole tournament for Brother Joe Carrico today at the city/county park. The tournament begins at 8 a.m. and costs $20 per team (bring your own partner) with the winners receiving a custom built and painted set of corn hole boards. There will be a cookout from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with hot dogs and drinks and a cake walk at noon. Lewisburg Cruise-in

There will be a Lewisburg Cruise-in held today at 6 p.m. on Front Street next to McKinney Park in Lewisburg. All cars, trucks and motorcycles are welcome to participate. Music and food will be available to insure that everyone has fun.

Strawberry Fest car show

The Adairville-South Logan Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its seventh annual Car and Tractor Show today as part of the 65th Strawberry Festival activities. The show will be from 1-4 p.m. on the Adairville square. Trophies will be awarded in the car, truck, tractor, lawn tractor and motorcycle category. A “People’s Choice” trophy will be awarded in the best automobile (car, truck, motorcycle) and tractor (tractor, lawn tractor) category.

There is a $15 entry fee for participants. There is no parking or admission fees for spectatotrs. Prizes will be raffled off throughout the event. The grand prize is two tickets will all-access passes to the July 23 NASCAR Nationwide Federated 300 race at the Nashville Superspeedway. For more information, call 270-772-0954.

Strawberry Festival 5K

The DeGraffenried Chorale will present a Spring Concert today at 2:30 pm at the Methodist Temple, 7th & Main streets, in Russellville. The cruise-in at Auburn Baptist Church has been rescheduled for today at 10 a.m. in the church parking lot. The outside service will begin at 11 a.m. with a cookout to follow. Everyone is welcome and asked to dress casual.

Wilkins retirement reception

Kaye Wilkins will be recognized at a retirement reception in her honor, hosted by the Russellville Board of Education, today from 2-4 p.m. at Stevenson Elementary School. She has given 37 years of dedicated service to the Russellville Independent School District, which has encompassed her entire professional career. Wilkins retired effective February 1, 2011. All friends, colleagues and the Russellville community are invited to attend the reception. She has requested no gifts, please.

The Adairville Strawberry Festival Baby Show will be today. Forms can be picked up at Adairville City Hall and all three Lewisburg Bank locations. The deadline to register is May 19.

Fallen Heroes Ride

The fifth annual Fallen Heroes ride will be today beginning with registration at 8 a.m. at the American Legion Post in Russellville. A $10 donation is requested for each motorcycle or vehicle with all proceeds being given to the Josh Moore Scholarship Fund.
