The BB&T Lighthouse Project 2009 was a company-wide effort to reach out and help local communities. Across the country, 30,000 employees were given $3 million along with time off to serve in their community.

In Logan County, BB&T employees were given over $2,100 and they used that money to help out the Community Child Based Services (Head Start) of Logan County. BB&T employees put up a heavy duty swing set at the Head Start building, volunteered at the school, and had coloring contests in which the winners were awarded BB&T piggy banks which contained money.

H&H Sheet Metal and IMI assisted with the building and setting of the swing set and each company also made a donation to the project.
