Ambulance runs off side of road

On Aug. 18, at approximitly10:30 p.m., the Logan County Sheriff’s Department and the Russellville Police Department were notified of a single vehicle accident with injuries involving a Logan County Ambulance, its crew and a patient.

The accident occurred on Franklin Road near the intersection of the 68-80 Bypass.

Upon investigation, it was determined that the ambulance, while transporting a patient, had run off the roadway and overturned. Paramedic Seth Williford, 32, of the Logan County Ambulance Service and an unnamed patient were both transported by helicopter to Vanderbilt Hospital for their injuries. Paramedic Chris Bell, 58, was transported to Logan Memorial Hospital for his injuries.

All parties involved are listed in good condition. The accident is under investigation by Sgt. Jeff Sanford of the Logan County Sheriff’s Department.
