Wow, what a holiday season! There were many joys and tears and I thought I would just fill you in on our adventures.
We started the season with lights glittering all over the place. Then we were to go to a family Christmas function and we woke up to a car that was covered with ice! I don’t think I have to tell you that we stayed home and watched the football games!
I think I told you that the Hubby was going to see his family for the first time in a long time. So I programmed their address in the GPS on my phone. Guess what, we just went in a circle and to my surprise, it brought us right back where we started. Ask me if that went over like a “lead balloon” with the Hubby. When we finally got there we got lots of hugs and kisses and of course tears when we left because we would not be seeing them again soon.
It was time to go to the Daughters house. Ask me if I got the GPS programmed correct this time. It’s always fun to open presents and this year to my surprise, the Daughter had a “man friend” that came to our gathering. Every time they opened one of their presents, they laughed. Of course I just had to find out what was going on and I was “blown away” when they told us they went out and bought their own Christmas presents; they wrapped them and put their own name on the tag from the other person. Then they acted so surprised when they opened them. Guess what they didn’t have to exchange anything! We all had a good laugh when we found out what they had done.
We went back to the lake and joined our UK basketball gang. It’s always nice to be “missed”. Of course we cheered the Big Blue on to victory, ate snacks and told everyone goodbye. You see it’s that time of year that the Hubby turns into a “wimpy chicken”. Most people call them “snow birds”. I don’t care what you call them, they just go SOUTH!
You remember we use to visit friends but I hate to tell you we run out of friends, so we are hitting the road before more ice and snow fall.
In closing this week, I am going to be very serious. Our little “coffee group” that gathers at Wayne’s place every morning will be missing two of our favorites. They will truly be missed. Make sure you hug your Hubby, your Daughter and every friend you have this winter season. Check on them and by all means remember to tell them you love them. We never know what the future holds for us.
Get ready because I am going to remind you again, it’s even more important for you to cherish every moment because that may be all you have! Happy New Year people, love you everyone!
