Antioch News

Greetings from The Antioch Community.

I had company early this morning. My sister Sue and James Fuller. They were on their way to see the doctor. I sure was glad to see them.

I had to have a test done Monday at the Skyline Medical Plaza in Nashville. And it really rained on us about all the way. Part of the time, you couldn’t hardly see how to drive. Sure wasn’t a good day to be out, but thank the Good Lord and a good driver, we made it okay. My daughter-in-law Betty drove me over there.

Congratulations to Bro. and Mrs. Albert Clardy on the arrival of their new great grandchild.

Congratulations again to Charles and Lila Edwards on celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary on Sunday at Post Oak Baptist Church. I went with Vanessa and Dolores. Everything looked pretty with their purple and white decorations. Had a beautiful wedding cake and the cake was so good. It was really moist and not dry like so many cakes are. Lila looked so pretty and Charles is so handsome.

Remember the sick in your prayers. Our music director J.V. Jenkins is to have a hip replacement today. Hope he does great.

My cousin, Joe Delk, is in I.C.U. at Logan Memorial Hospital. Hope he can soon be much better.

Chris Kenner and some more from our church will be leaving Saturday July 2 to go on a mission trip to Oklahoma. Pray for a safe trip for them.

Remember that we are still saving plastic caps and tops of all kinds. It will take us a while to get 400 pounds. If you could help us, it would be very much appreciated.

The W.M.U. Today and Logan quarterly meeting will be at Woodlawn Baptist Church on July 12th at 6 p.m. Bring a salad or dessert for supper. Speaker for the evening will be Stacy Livingstone, daughter of Suzanne Brown. Please come and support our W.M.U.

The Seniors will be going to Barkley Lodge on our outing for July. If you love to eat and have a good time, come and go with us. The bus leaves the church at 10 a.m.

If you would like to lose a few pounds, we invite you to join us at our Tops 466 Ky. Club in Russellville. We meet in the dining room at Logan Memorial Hospital. We will be weighing in from 8:30 to nine and the lesson from 9 to 10. We have a group of nice ladies who will encourage you and help all we can. You are very welcome to come and join us.

When life’s struggles make you weary, find strength in the Lord.

Have a good week.
