Greetings from The Antioch Community.
Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving. If you are traveling, please be careful.
We had our Thanksgiving Dinner on Sunday night at Antioch in the Fellowship Hall. We had a good crowd and a bountiful meal. we had turkey, dressing, gravy, ham and everything else to go with that. The greatest thing that happened was that three boys were saved. So we really had something to be thankful for.
Dolores Harris and Vanessa Price visited with Vickie Gregory and family and her Dad, Jewel Wayne Johnson on Sunday afternoon.
I enjoyed a call from my cousin, Omanell in Florida, last week. Her health is not any better.
Our faithful Calvin Williams led the singing Sunday morning in the absence of our music director. J.V. Jenkins has been on a mission trip to Mexico. Sure glad to have him back home.
We sure were glad to have Kelly Patrick Hurt and children back at church Sunday. Those kids sure have grown. Calvin put Kelly on the spot and asked her to sing for us and she did. We love to hear her sing. She is really good.
To help decorate our church for Christmas, you can give a poinsettia in memory of a loved on. See Judy White and she needs to know by Nov. 29.
I had a lady at our Thanksgiving Dinner to ask me if I knew what she wanted for Christmas? Of course I said, “What?” And she said for you to bake one of those juicy coconut cakes. So I hope I am able to bake one for Christmas. We will have finger foods after the business meeting on December 20th.
I listened to Bro. Brad Rodgers Monday morning as he was on the radio talking about the New Vision Church is the drop off place this year for Operation Christmas Child. They hath to be in this week. They will be taking them to Bowling Green next Monday, November 23rd. This is a great ministry. Antioch Church has participated in this for several years.
We also take part in saving our change for the Soldiers and their family at the Fisher House at Fort Campbell. If you are not taking part in these programs, please consider doing this. This is doing mission work for our Lord.
My great-great Grandson will turn 1 year old Wednesday, Nov. 18. They are having his Birthday Party on Saturday at his home with his parents. I sure want to go.
Some of our Ladies from Tops went to the China Buffet and ate lunch last week on Wednesday.
Some of our church family are at Creekwood Place. Please remember all the sick in your prayers.
We send sincere sympathy to Margaret Sowell in the death of her son. I learned to love Margaret at the WMU meeting for Logan and Todd counties.
When God says “no” it’s because he has something better in store for you.
Have a good week.
