Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland (FAKH) would like to say thank you for all the hard work and dedication that our wonderful volunteers showed us in 2015.
For those who don’t know us, we are a charitable Food Bank based out of Elizabethtown. We provide assistance to approximately 175,000 people each year through our feeding network in 42 central, south central, and western Kentucky counties. These individuals include children, families, and senior citizens that are supported through the various programs we provide, including our BackPack, Senior Box, and Food Pantry Programs.
None of this would be possible without the support and partnership we receive from all of our volunteers, including individuals and groups from our entire service area who have joined us at our Volunteer Center in Elizabethtown. Without our volunteers, we would not be able to accomplish all the great things that we do. Below are some numbers that truly show just how much of an impact volunteers made with our organization during this past year.
* 3,911 volunteers worked a total of 17,852.25 hours, the equivalent of 8.5 full time employees.
* Over 220,000 BackPack Bags packed and distributed in 35 of the counties we serve.
* Over 67,000 Senior Food Boxes filled and distributed in the 42 counties we serve.
* 11,660,000 meals distributed.
Again, we want to thank all our volunteers. We truly appreciate all that they do for our organization. For more information concerning FAKH and how you can help, please visit our web site at www.feedingamericaky.org, become a fan at our Facebook Page, or contact us at 270-735-1407.
Many Thanks and Happy New Year.
