The Logan County Lady Cougar softball team got a big win on Friday night. The Lady Cougars hosted the Warren Central Lady Dragons on Friday night and would walk away with a 12-2 win after only five innings.
Brea Croslin would score early in the game for the Lady Cougars and take a lead of 1-0 at the end of the first inning. The Lady Dragons would come back to score two runs in the second and third innings. They would lead 2-1 until the bottom of the fourth when the Lady Cougars would add one more run to their score.
The two teams would go into the fifth inning with a tie game of 2-2. The Lady Dragons fought hard, but were not able to score any runs in the top of the fifth.
Senior Victoria Cates started out the inning with a double to bring in a run. The Lady Cougars would take off from there and score a total of 10 runs in the fifth inning. Rachel Barnett would end the game after she singled to bring in Sierra Morrow. The Lady Cougars would end the game early with a 12-2 win.
Brea Croslin led the Lady Cougars with three RBI’s. Cates, Barnett and Macy Meacham all finished two RBI’s each. Meagan Ferguson, Madison Abbott and Sierra Morrow all finished with one RBI each.
Cates pitched for the Lady Cougars for all five innings. Cates allowed four hits, two runs, walked one and struck out three.
The Lady Cougars are scheduled to travel to the home of the Franklin-Simpson Lady Wildcats tonight. The game will start at 5:30 p.m.
