The Russellville High School football team is still perfect on the year after Friday’s big 47-0 win at Fulton City.

It was the second straight district blowout for the Panthers after beating Fulton County 53-6 on Oct. 12.

Russellville is now 8-0 on the season and ranked No. 2 in Class A behind district foe Mayfield - the only other undefeated team in Class A.

Those two teams will meet this week in Mayfield. Gametime is set for 7 p.m. on Friday in what will be one of the top games in the entire state this week.

Russellville has not given up more than 7 points in a game since Aug. 30 and has outscored its opponents 382-75 so far this year. Similarly, Mayfield has outscored its opponents 367-143 this year.

And while the Panthers stayed perfect on Friday night, the Logan County High School football team remained winless in a 53-13 home loss to Barren County.

Logan County (0-8) has been outscored 469-51 by its opponents so far this season.

The Cougars have just two more chances to avoid a losing season and both games will be in Bowling Green. LCHS plays at Warren Central on Friday at 7 p.m. and then closes out the regular season on Nov. 1 at Warren East.
