Good morning! We are having warmer weather, I think gardens are being planted, and I guess tobacco is being set. As always, a busy time.
Helen Porter attended the Alumni banquet Saturday night at Lewisburg. She said it was a very large crowd attending and one class, which was the class of 1964, in which her brother was a member, were one of those celebrating their special year.
Sunday afternoon Elvera McCoy, her son Wade and his friend Shawn of Louisville attended church here Sunday morning and met several friends that afternoon at the cemetery and visited a while. Those being Helen and Glenn Porter and her nephews Jimmie Mullen and family of Auburn and Bobby Mullen and family of Greenville. This was at Sandy Creek, where she and the late Mr. McCoy attended church.
Freddie Borders and his mom Marvine Borders are home after a flying trip to Austin, Texas. They visited her brother, James Stuart and Martha Meador and family and also seeing Rebecca Croslin and her sister Jean Shrull while there. They had a good visit.
We have a new baby! John and Jessica Sweeney in Charleston, S.C., welcomed Janessa Layne into their home on May 26th. She weighed 5 pounds and 15 ounces and was 17 inches long. This makes Elaine grandma and Stanley Grand-Stan, and me great granny. We were so afraid that John would be shipped to Saudi Arabia before she got here, but he gets to see and hold her. She has two older sisters, Kyla and Michaela, so they can be a big help. Glad all is well with them.

Stanley says we have some kittens to give away, so give us a call.
Stacey Jernigan brought my supper Tuesday night. Yum, yum, it was good!
I enjoyed the day Wednesday when Sheila Barrow brought some of her dad’s (Lasley) pictures that had no names on them. We got a lot of them, but some remain unknown. People, remember to write names and dates on the backs of your pictures so those left behind will know who they are!
Thusday was also an enjoyable day, when Lynwood Montell of Bowling Green was here and we know where we went, to Boston! How about that one. I did not know there was a Boston anywhere except in Massachusetts, but this one is in Butler County. Hmmm. later we were asked if we were sure we saw it all? Later, stopping in Lewisburg and eating our lunch. It was good.
Imagine my surprise Saturday morning when the door bell range. Here is James Sydney Fleming of Mississippi, his daughter Laura, she lives near Gettysburg, and Jimmie’s girlfriend Grace, of Owensboro. Jimmie’s wife is dead and Grace’s husband is also passed away. Several years ago when Jimmy and Grace were teenagers, they dated. Then she married and later he did. And now they are together again. Jimmie is Bob’s cousin, he is a brother to J.C. Fleming. I sure enjoyed their company. A surprise and an enjoyable one.
See ya next time.
