Greetings from the Antioch Community.
Congratulations to Stephanie and Nick Christian on the birth of their baby boy. His name is Remington Harris Christian on Harris Christian. he weighed eight pounds and one ounce and was 20 inches long. He is a pretty baby. I got to see him the next day after he came home from the hospital.
A Birthday Party was held Sunday afternoon for Dolores Harris in the Fellowship Hall. Everything was decorated so pretty and had lots to eat. A large crowd attended and she got lots of gifts.
Odessa Johnson got to come. Her birthday was Sunday, May 18th. She was 92 years young.
Tammy Sears did the special at church Sunday morning. She sang, What a Day That Will Be.”
The Pastor/Staff Banquet was held Monday night at Dripping Spring Baptist Church. A delicious meal was enjoyed by all. A lady portrayed Annie Armstrong. She was really good. Then they played a game with the pastors. Those going from Antioch was our Pastor, Bro. Clardy, and his wife Ava Nell, Melba Gibbs, Juanita Key, Myrtle Pogue, Marcie Patterson and myself. We enjoyed the program.
Remember this Sunday May 25 will be the 196th Homecoming at Antioch. The Sneed Family will be singing at 10 o’clock. Our new pastor, Bro. Albert Clardy, will be preaching at the 11 o’clock hour. Bring and covered dish and join us for lunch.
I talked to my brother-in-law, James Fuller. He wasn’t feeling very good. Sue kept an appointment with her Doctor on Monday to see about her back.
Mark and Kay Thornberry will be going to South Dakota on June 8th. They would like to have clothes, Bankets, pillows and shoes to carry with them. If you would like to send something, please take it to Mark and Kay’s home.
Tuesday was the day for Dr. Larry Gotts to be on Feedback with Don Neagle. Lots of good questions was called in and the good Doctor gave the answers. You get a lot of free information. Dr. Gotts is a very special Doctor.
Visiting with Christine White was Juley, Shelby, Ethan, Sarah, Dorothy, Jeffery came Saturday and brought Breakfast, Jimmy brought supper Monday night, Carolyn White and her cousin.
We might look good on the outside without really being good on the inside.
