Although this has been an active week in Auburn, Logan County and Kentucky, this will be a short column.

Following yet another trip to the doctor and long drives to and from, I did make it home in time to vote on Tuesday, and was even able to wait up for results. Congratulations to all the local winners and thanks to all those candidates willing to put their lives on hold and campaign for the honor of serving their communities. Some of you I know personally, some only through your campaign efforts when asking for my vote.

Special thanks to those elections officials and pole workers who gave of their time.

Voting is one of the most important of our freedoms. The primary is over, but the next election is most important. Take time to know the candidates. Decide which of these will best represent you and your interest, as well as the county and state.

Thanks to those who prayed for little Ella Allen. Her injury proved to be less serious than anticipated. Keep those neighbors and friends who are dealing with health problems in you thoughts and prayers.

Wishing you a safe, enjoyable Memorial Day holiday and have a blessed day.
