GOOD MONING YOU GUYS! You can see I have been around Yankees too long. They got me talking like them. One day a friend asked, “What happened to Honey Child?” You see that is what I called everybody when I first got here.
Well, everything has to come to an end. We started home this morning. As we drive along its so much fun to just sit back and watch the world go by. But it’s really hard not to “BACK SIT DRIVE”! For some reason the Hubby does not like that. He always has to remind me to read my book. You see I always have a good one handy just so I will keep my mouth shut!
The first problem we encountered was getting the same “stuff” back in the car that we took with us. Ask me if the Hubby was really unhappy. He had to pack and unpack several times. It just seems to explode when he tried to put it back. I even called the lady that kept our “home away from home” clean and gave her all the canned goods left over.
We got up early ate a big breakfast at Hazels and left! You know I thought all the good people were in Kentucky but I met people from Maine, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin and Minnesota. I told one lady that I didn’t think there were any people left up north. One couple said they might come by and see us on their way home. Of course I told them to COME ON BY! The door is always open.
It just occurred to me that I was going to have to practice all the card games I learned while I was gone. This means I am going to have to find people as soon as I get home. You see I don’t want to forget all I have learned.
As you might know we had to make a lot of McDonald stops for good coffee. Also I noticed that quite a few cars were pulled over when we were going down the freeway. Guess What! It was the highway patrol. You know they put cruise control on all cars now and I can’t understand why people don’t use them.
My silly sister called me the other day and she had gotten a ticket and her payment was going to be $108.00. I told her many times that the law was going to catch her; especially when she bragged about the time it took her to drive from here to there. She assured me that she was going to use her cruise control now!!!!
One other problem we had when we were coming home. We never drive straight through; The Hubby just doesn’t like to drive over five hours. Of course if he would let me drive it might be nice. But who ever heard of a woman driving on a trip?
When we were in Birmingham we decided to look for a place to stay all night. WRONG THING TO DO; No room at the Inn. Seems they were having a soft ball tournament and every little girl that ever thought about playing ball was staying in the motels. Finally when we almost reached Cullman Alabama we found a Days Inn and as I entered the office they were talking with someone who wanted to cancel their reservation. You see miracles are still happening. I certainly am glad the Good Lord is looking after me and the Hubby. The way we run around we need it.
Well, that’s all folks! I must say it is more fun looking forward to “getting there” than “coming home” and unpacking. The Daughter was certainly glad to see us. She said she was tired of gathering our mail, now that another story. Maybe I will cover that next week.
Hope you enjoyed the moment while I was gone. Till next time. Bye Now!
