Lately it seems like I am writing a “travel log”. Do you remember when you use to go to the movies and they would show you “far away” places that you knew you would never be able to go to but you enjoyed seeing them anyway! Man, that was a long sentence.

Here we are in paradise and a horrible thing happened. We turned on our television and it said “NO SIGNAL”. You would have thought the world had come to an end. People came out of their little apartments and started talking to one another. Of course these are the ones that really like to be hermits! You know me by now; I could not handle just sitting around watching TV all day. I have to be in the middle of the conversation.

Well, we decided that we would take the advice of a friend and go visit the library. I realize that Lewisburg and Russellville have wonderful libraries but this one is out of this world. It’s just a little town but when we got there the parking lot was jammed packed. You would have thought they were giving away “free food”. People were going in with all kind of bags. Big ones that you carry on the beach, little ones and some just had stacks of books in their arms. One little lady could hardly carry this beach bag she had and when she got inside she started feeding each book into a slot that looked like a great big vending machine! I could not wait to see what was going on since everyone was in such a hurry. I thought maybe they were about to run out of books. But really they weren’t. That had all kinds! The Hubby said, “I didn’t know people like to read this much”! Of course he doesn’t have time for that since he fishes all the time.

Once we had got inside, I could see people were checking out movies and puzzles. I couldn’t believe that you could do such things. I told you they had a big puzzle in our lobby that everyone worked on but here they had stacks of them. All taped and ready to go. The lady there said people purchased them while they were visiting here and then just donated them to the library before they went home. All I could think of was “what if you did the puzzle and there was a piece missing”? That would make me upset. I asked the librarian and she said, “When people report it, we just throw the puzzle away”. Then I happen to think, I am going to see if Russellville Library has puzzles. I bet they do.

I was the smart one, I went out on my computer and applied for a library card before I went and I did not have to stand in line. They printed my card off right away. I checked out a few books but certainly didn’t get a “bag full”! And since we had a person at our place that had a new puzzle going every time I checked, I knew I didn’t need one of those.

As I was checking my books out I told the librarian that our TV was out and she put her hands on her hips and replied, “No wonder we have had such a crowd today”. I certainly hope they get it fixed soon. I don’t think she had to worry; they had plenty of everything in stock to entertain all the people that were there.

I checked my cell phone and it said the temperature in Lewisburg was still in the MINUS CATEGORY; so I think I will stay put where I am. I just don’t like to be COLD.

I will tell you one little story and then I am gone. The Legal eagle, he is an e-mail buddy of mine, reported that the geese on the lake were still going crazy. He had a group swimming around in one little hole in the thin sheet of ice right in front of his house. Then all of a sudden two eagles appeared on the scene. They circled and circled over head and all of a sudden one of them just “dived toward the water” and those geese just did a disappearing act under the water. He said he wished he had had his camera; that would have been a wonderful memory. He could look at it when the temperature is 100 degrees in the summer.

I can’t believe it will only be a few months and old TG will be back on the lake complaining about being HOT! I must say, “I CAN’T WAIT”! It won’t be too soon.

Till next time, hang in here. Keep your long underwear handy and enjoy what moments we have even if they are COLD! Bye now.
