Well, you do remember that the Hubby promised to contact our friends who had come to the lake and we were going to visit them during the “long cold winter”! You see most of these visitors are avid fishermen and of course you know the Hubby is the “fisherman of all times”; he thinks. And believe me he eats, breathes, and talks fishing. One of his buddies said “come on down” we would love to have you.

So of course you know who got everything together. Made sure we took all the right clothes. You never know what people do at night. They may even have a party but I really doubt it. I left the Hubby to get his things together and thank goodness, since it was cool, he did not have his fishing gear!

After I got all my things together and my suitcases by the door, he said, “Woman are you taking everything you own?” I just had to reply in my “stern voice” that a woman needs to be prepared for any occasion. He reminded me that we weren’t going to a dance or a swimming party! I know it will be warmer but not that warm.

After he got everything in the car he returned and mentioned that everything was ready to go and he thought he might have to “tie me to the top” since I had packed so many clothes. Of course you know what happened, that’s when the fight started.

We had a wonderful drive down I-65. You know you really don’t know what is out there when you stay at the lake all the time. The weather was feeling warmer and I was so happy. Then all of a sudden it turned somewhat cool. The further south we went the colder it got. I asked the Hubby if he took a wrong turn and we were going home again. You know what that answer was! He immediately asked me if I wanted to drive. He knows that gets me upset every time. As you can see the trip was NOT GOING SO WELL!

We finally got to our destination and our friends were glad to see us of course. But he said he had bad news; a weather front was moving in and it was going to get really cold. I looked at the Hubby and he looked like he was turning a little green. I knew what he was thinking; we drove all this distance just to find out it was going to be just like being at home.

Of course I made a phone call to the Daughter who was looking after things at home and she said it was seven degrees on our back porch. I could hardly believe it. That is the lowest temperature I have seen in a long, long time.

So I guess this column is going to be a little dull today. The only exciting thing that has happened to me today is the fact that I got to select all the warmest clothes I brought and put them ALL on.

You know I have always said, “Enjoy the moment” and I am really trying hard to do just that.

See you next time; they say it will be seventy degrees by Saturday. Maybe I will have something more exciting to tell you about! I truly hope so. I might as well be at the lake looking at the beautiful water. I bet it is frozen by now.

Till next time pray for old TG; that she can stand being shut up in a house with two old fishermen reliving their fishing trips OVER AND OVER again! I am praying for warm weather. You can join me in that because I know it is cold there. Bye now.
