A drizzly morning in Spa, however, we keep getting weather reports I do not especially like, but of course we will take whatever comes our way. Nuff said about the weather. And how was your week?
Normally I do not get out at night, however, Stanley took me to Crossroads church and I got to enjoy very much their play titled “The Pageant at Barrington Hills.” They knew their parts well, talked where I could hear them and served refreshments. I’m so proud of Elaine, she was in charge of the rehearsals and practice sessions. She has worked hard as did the actors. Tara had a speaking part also. Again they did a great job.
When we had the ice recently several wee without power. Thank the good Lord as ours did not go out. However, the crew was soon out working till they found the problem. We should be grateful to our electric people as well as to our police force, they are able and do keep watch over us.
Bell Virginia Hart, she was a lucky one and had power Sunday and as church was cancelled, eating lunch with her were Jerry and Claudia Hart, Erin Borders and girls J.D. and Morgan Atkisson and their children.
The Birdwhistles are having it rough now. Donna has fallen some lately and Jane has recently had back surgery and seems to be doing fine. Bod is to have back surgery the 18th and Joe is to have knee surgery the last day of the year. Remember this family as you pray.
Talked to Evelyn Dill one day this past week, she is not feeling quite as perky as she would like. Hope she can soon feel better.
Those in this week have been Curtis and Brenda Coursey and Lannie and David Jernigan with my supper Tuesday night. It was good as usual.
Saturday night, December the 14th was the night chosen by the Truthseekers Sunday school class of Elk Lick for our Christmas party at beautiful Shady Cliff. There were 16 attending. They were Bill and Lois Ann Cornelius, Kenneth and Joyce Chapman, Bro. Art and Jane Hatfield, Nelson and Beverly Harris, Joe and Ada Dorris, who graciously picked me up and took me and took care of me, Ms. Wanda Coursey and Rufus Coursey, Jewell Wayne Johnson, Hester Martin, Patty Campbell and me, Hazel. The only one unable to go was poor Shirley and Danny Coursey, as she was sick. Hope she is soon feeling much better. As usual the food was excellent and the help very good. I got to see the men whom is still a kid tour, very much grown up was Jeff White. Had not gotten to see him for ever so long. I still have fond memories of he and Joe of several years ago when small kids.
Luke 2, which tells us about the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It never gets old.
Another week till the celebrated time that we celebrate the birth of Jesus. As the saying goes, “Jesus is the reason for the season.” So enjoy and have a blessed Christmas okay?
