On April 24th from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Auburn School will be hosting a College and Career Family Night. The title of this event is Lead Today. Succeed Tomorrow. All Auburn students (Kindergarten through eighth grade) and their parents are welcome to attend.
For this event, students will display their leadership skills by presenting speeches and projects to their peers and parents. Food will be provided, and door prizes will be given away every 30 minutes.
Several financial planning sessions for college will be offered. Western Kentucky University and Southern Technical College will be present. The Gifted and Talented department for Western Kentucky University will be available to answer any questions about programs they offer.
A Career Fair will be set up in the gym, in which over twenty local professionals will be available to talk to students about their career paths.
Middle school students will have the opportunities to work on College/Career planning tools with the guidance counselor, teachers, and parents. They will also be able to talk with students from Logan County High School about how to prepare for high school and the ACT.
The purpose of this event is to help parents work with their children in setting future college and career goals. We want parents to know about the resources available to financially plan for college for their children, and we want students to learn about the endless possibilities for their futures. We hope to see you there!
