This book, known as the bible, is the most unique book ever written. It is our Divine Creator’s communication with all mankind. A virtual manual and guide for every aspect of human existence upon this earth. It is the inspired word of God, written by many men over a period of some 1600 years, yet with not a single mistake or contradiction. This fact alone would prove it’s authenticity, since no other book written from the minds of men, can make such a claim. It’s simple, single theme is to guide us in how God would have us to live, to be pleasing to Him in this life, and what we must do to insure eternal life in heaven with Him in the life to come. No words written in any other book will have the effect on the life and death of man as this book, for this word is literally, God breathed.
“The word is living and active, and sharper than any two edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and quick to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature that is not manifest in his sight, but that all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him we have to do.” (Heb. 4:12-13) The words of this book bear witness of Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God (John 5:39). Jesus tells us, “ I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man comes unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6).
The power of God’s word is not just in it’s existence, but in its being read, understood, and believed. The real purpose of the word is for man to know and understand what God wills and expects of us. He commands us, as his workmen, to study his word to show ourselves approved of him, that we be not ashamed, rightly dividing his word of truth (II Tim. 2:15).
Not only must we understand God’s word, we must believe it and have complete faith in Jesus Christ. The words of this book will make the man of God complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work (II Tim. 3:15-17). This book must be obeyed for us to know God. There will be dire consequences for those who refuse to obey the precepts of this book. “When the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power” (II Thess. 1:7-9).
We must take this book to the world and teach all men of the Father and of the Son. One of the last things Jesus told his apostles before He returned to the Father in heaven was, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole of creation. He that believes and is baptized shall be saved, but he that believes not, shall be condemned” (Mark 16:15-16). The whole world must be taught the truth of God, for it is His will that all men know of Him and be saved through the one and only mediator between God and men, the man Jesus Christ (I Tim. 2:4-5).
“ It is appointed men once to die, and after this the judgment” (Heb. 9:27) Thus last, but definitely not least, we know we shall all be judged on the day of judgment. Most fittingly, we will be judged by the very words that are written in this book. ( John 12:48)
May I ask you, brothers, sisters, friends, and neighbors, have you read, understood, believed, and obeyed this great book of life? Are you ready for the judgment day?
