The Logan County 11-12 year old Little League All-Star team finished their season this week in the semifinal game in Bowling Green. The team worked hard to go 3-1 to advance to the semifinal game on Wednesday, but fell 9-8 to Ohio County, losing their chance to go to state.

On Monday, Logan County got their first loss to Owensboro Southern. Owensboro would take off in the third inning of the game and score seven runs. Logan County would put up two runs in the fifth inning, but Owensboro Southern would finish the game after scoring three more runs in the fifth.

Logan County went on to face Bowling Green East on Tuesday. Parker White and Dylan Penick would score in the first inning to gain a lead early in the game. In the third inning Dalton Dean and Jacob Smock would add two more runs to their score.

The fifth inning would be big for Logan County. Third Bell would homer to add two more runs. Blake Wood and Braxton Meguiar would both get an RBI. Dylan Penick would also homer in the inning to get two RBI’s.

With that 11-0 win, Logan County would advance to the semifinal game against Ohio County on Wednesday.

Logan County would have a good start to the game when lead-off batter, Braxton Meguiar, would give Logan a lead after he hit a home run. But Ohio County would come back in the bottom of the first and hit a homer, scoring two runs.

In the top of the third, Meguiar would score and tie the game 2-2. But Ohio County would hit two home runs and score four runs, which would put them in the lead of 6-2 over Logan. In the bottom of the fourth, Ohio County would add another two runs to the score and now lead 8-2.

In the top of the fifth, Austin Rager would get a hit for Logan County and score two runs and would eventually score himself, bringing the score to 6-8. Macon Barrow then tripled with one RBI to bring Logan within one point of Ohio County.

In the last inning, Ohio County would score one run bringing to score to 9-7.

Third Bell would double in the inning and get an RBI, and Logan would once again be one point away. But the Ohio County defense was too strong and they would end the game. Logan would fall 8-9.

Members of the 11-12 team include Macon Barrow, Third Bell, Dalton Dean, Jaden Hayes, Graham Humphrey, Dylan Hurt, Braxton Meguiar, John Carter Myers, Dylan Penick, Jacob Smock, Austin Rager, Parker White and Blake Wood.
