The Logan County Lady Cougar volleyball team has been hitting up the court this summer to prepare for the upcoming season. The Lady Cougars had a very successful season last year, and they are hopeful that they will have another season like it.
Last year, the Lady Cougars beat the Franklin-Simpson Lady Wildcats in the 13th district championship game to win the district tournament. They went on to beat Bowling Green 3-2 in the semi-final game and then beat South Warren 3-2 to win the 4th region tournament for the first time in years.
The Lady Cougars then went on to compete in the KHSAA State Tournament and brought a huge cheering section along. The Lady Cougars would win their first game against Raceland 3-0. But the next day, the Lady Cougars would end their season as they fell 1-3 to Henry Clay.
This year, the team is very young but a lot of players have varsity experience. The team has set big goals this year and is going to work very hard to meet them.
The Lady Cougars have a scrimmages on August 12th and August 14th at home. They will play their first regular season game against the Franklin-Simpson Lady Wildcats on Tuesday August 19th at home.
