The Logan County Lady Cougars and the Russellville Lady Panthers faced each other for the second time this season in the Clash of the Cats game. The two teams had a close start to the game, but the Lady Cougars would take off in the third inning of the game. The Lady Cougars would end the game in five innings with a 19-5 win.


The Lady Cougars would get a good start to the game and put one run up on the board in the top of the first. The Lady Panthers defense would hold them to only one run and would head to the plate. Senior Shea Hampton would single to left field and Malynn Ray and Tara Gilbert would score. The Lady Panthers would now lead 2-1 at the end of the first.


The second inning would go by quickly and the two teams would head into the top of the third. Senior Shelby Milam would start off the Lady Cougars big inning after she singled to bring in senior Madison Abbott. The Lady Cougars would go on to score 12 more runs in the inning. Macy Meacham would hit a double to score the last two runs of the inning. The Cougars would now hold a 14-2 lead over the Lady Panthers.


Milam would get another RBI in the top of the fourth inning. Tara Gilbert would double to bring in a run for the Lady Panthers in the bottom of the fourth, but they would still trail 3-15.


By the bottom of the fifth inning, the Lady Cougars had a 19-3 lead over the Lady Panthers. The Lady Panthers would score two runs in the inning, but they would still fall 5-19.


Seniors Victoria Cates and Shelby Milam would end the game with three RBIs each. Macy Meacham finished with two RBIs. Croslin, Abbott, Morrow and Cold all had one RBI each.


Cates pitched for the Lady Cougars. She allowed eight hits, five runs, walked three and struck out five.


Senior Shea Hampton led the Lady Panthers with two RBIs. Collins, Gilbert and Tiffany Gray all finished with one RBI each.


Gilbert pitched for the Lady Panthers and allowed 17 hits, 19 runs, walked three and struck out one.


The Lady Panthers will host Hart County tonight at home at 5 p.m. The Lady Cougars will also be at home and will face Warren Central at 5:30 p.m.
