The Logan County Lady Cougars would face a tough loss on Saturday against the Muhlenberg County Lady Mustangs. The Lady Cougars had several hits for the team, but the Lady Cougars could not make it to the plate. The Lady Cougars would fall 16-5 to the Lady Mustangs.


The Lady Mustangs would start the game off strong and score two runs in the first inning of the game. Sierra Morrow would get a big hit and double for the Lady Cougars. This hit would bring in Shelby Milam in the bottom of the first. The Lady Cougars would only trail 2-1.


The Lady Mustangs would take off in the second inning of the game and score five runs to increase their lead to 7-1. The Lady Cougars would not do much offensively so the game would head into the third inning.


The Lady Mustangs lead off batter would hit a home run to start out the third inning of the game. They would score two more runs in that inning and end with a nine point lead of 10-1.


The Lady Cougars would have some good hits during the third, but the Lady Mustang defense would stop the Lady Cougars from scoring. The Lady Mustangs would start the fourth inning with another home run and bring in four more runs. The Lady Cougars would fall behind 1-15 by the end of the fourth inning.


The Lady Mustangs would score one run in the top of the fifth to put them with a lead of 16-1. The Lady Cougars would have one more chance to catch up to the Lady Mustangs.


Milam would be the first to score in the bottom of the second inning. Senior Victoria Cates would get a big hit to bring in two runs. Raegan Cole would get her second hit of the night and allow Cates to score. But the Lady Cougars run would end and they would fall 5-16.


Victoria Cates led the Lady Cougars with two RBIs. Sierra Morrow and Raegan Cole both finished with one RBI each.


Meagan Ferguson pitched for three innings of the game. Ferguson allowed 11 hits, 12 runs, walked three and struck out one. Senior Shelby Milam pitched for two innings. Milam allowed two hits, four runs, walked three and struck out one.


The Lady Cougars will have a 13th district match-up tonight against the Todd County Central Lady Rebels. They will play on their home field at 5:30 p.m.
